Peace and Conflict Prevention and Resolution is one of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus, with a goal of supporting peacebuilding in communities. YPA, with the support of Rotary Zones 33 & 34, is the largest local peacebuilding initiative in the history of Rotary International.
On April 7th, 2021, Rotary International Director Peter Kyle–Past Chair, Rotary Peace Centers Committee, and Dean of the Rotary Representative Network to the UN and international organizations–announced a commitment from Rotary Zones 33 & 34 of $500,000 to promote peace education, training, and project mentoring for high school students, teachers, and youth service club members during the 2021-22 school year. Rotary Zones 33 & 34 introduced a vision for supporting Youth & Peace in Action (YPA). Twenty-two Districts across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US, as well as parts of the Caribbean signed on with volunteer engagement and funding.

NewGen Peacebuilders is an award-winning peace education, training and mentoring program that equips people to: Build Peace. Repeat the Peace.℠ Since 2014, NGP programs have been delivered or are in development across multiple states in the US and 12 countries.
Outward Bound Peacebuilding
Outward Bound Peacebuilding uses experiential learning to challenge and inspire leaders to build peace. Programs embrace learning by doing, with special emphasis on compassionate leadership, cooperative learning, and creative action. OBP calls this Experiential Peacebuilding.
Alliance for Peacebuilding
Alliance for Peacebuilding is a nonpartisan network of 130+ organizations working to end conflict and build peace. Members include the world’s largest and most influential development organizations, academic institutions, and humanitarian and faith-based groups.
Institute for Economics & Peace
The Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) is the world’s leading think tank dedicated to developing metrics to analyze peace and quantify its economic value. The IEP Positive Peace Academy provides knowledge and a neutral baseline from which to create practical approaches to peaceful societal change.
